Biography

Melis Vlahović, the Croatian mezzo-soprano based in Germany, made her debut at the Croatian National Theatre in Split as the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.

During her studies, she performed roles such as Dorabella (Così fan tutte) and Idamante (Idomeneo). As a guest at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, she also appeared as Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro) and Suzy (La rondine). Further engagements led her to the Staatsoper Stuttgart (as one of the “Six Girls” in Weill’s Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny), the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart (as Madame de Croissy in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites), and the Kammeroper Weißenhorn, where she also interpreted the soprano role of Euridice (Orfeo ed Euridice).

She completed the postgraduate artistic programme of the Opera School (Bühnenexamen) at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts (HMDK) under the artistic guidance of Diana Haller.
