Croatian mezzo-soprano Melis Vlahović, based in Germany, made her debut at the Croatian National Theatre in Split as the Sorceress in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.
During her studies, she performed roles including Dorabella (Così fan tutte) and Idamante (Idomeneo). As a guest at the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, she appeared as Marcellina (Le nozze di Figaro) and Suzy (La rondine). Further engagements have taken her to Staatsoper Stuttgart as one of the “Six Girls” in Weill’s Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, to the Wilhelma Theater Stuttgart as Madame de Croissy in Poulenc’s Dialogues des Carmélites, and to Kammeroper Weißenhorn, where she also interpreted the soprano role of Euridice in Orfeo ed Euridice.
She completed the postgraduate artistic programme of the Opera School (Bühnenexamen) at the Stuttgart University of Music and Performing Arts (HMDK) under the artistic guidance of Diana Haller. Upcoming engagements include performances in Wagner’s Der Ring 2.0 at Kammeroper Weißenhorn and in Wagner’s Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg at Theater Ulm.
